PRE KGUsing a thematic approach and through purposeful play
the children develop a wide range of skills. The
children take part in activities, which promote growing
independence and responsibility. They will have the
opportunity to sort and match objects, shapes, colours,
develop manual dexterity, through puzzles and threading
activities. Music sessions, singing and reciting rhymes,
story telling and art and crafts are just some of the
activities the children will participate in everyday.
Self confidence is developed in an atmosphere where
child feels secured, valued and happy.
The children learn how to co-operate, share and interact
positively with their peers. They are encouraged to tidy
away activities to help them independence and confidence
in their abilities. Politeness and good manners are
emphasized and good hygiene and reinforced at all times.
KG-1Learning at this stage is more structured, preparing the
children for later schooling. We aim to build the
child’s confidence, self esteem and independence and
develop an understanding of social relationships and
responsibilities to enable them to become independent
and self motivated in thinking and learning.
Some of our goals are to ensure the children can form
good relationships with adults and peers, to work as
part of the group, taking turns, sharing fairly,
building confidence to try new activities. To select and
use activities and resources independently.
Communication Language and Literacy: We focus on
development in skills required for speaking and
listening appreciation of books. The children will build
up vocabulary, become responsive to instructions, have
favourite books, rhymes, songs, ba able to anticipate
events, recall and re-tell stories. Develop recognition
of letters and initial sounds through Letterland scheme
and flash cards.
Maths: Matching, sorting, shapes, colour, measures,
patterns, sets, number recognition and counting. Develop
number language, and ideas of sequence, pattern and
order.
Art and Craft: Children are encouraged to explore and
experiment with a wide variety of materials, colours,
textures and techniques which help them develop manual
dexterity and control.
